The company was founded as far back as 1913 under the name Kai Fog. In 1939 Erik Mangor entered the company as a director and the first EVA products made their appearance on the market as early as the beginning of the ‘50s. Erik Mangor's first child provided the name.
EVA DENMARK has always been a family company. Today it is EVA's son, Jan Engelbrecht, who is the managing director after Erik's son, Johan Mangor.
So the company that began in a very modest manner as an agency has now twice passed from uncle to nephew. First from the company's founder Kai Fog to Erik Mangor – and then from Johan Mangor to Jan Engelbrecht.

These family ties have helped to create a clear continuity at the company. But the will and the desire to take new paths – and thereby take a risk – cannot be ignored. And as Jan Engelbrecht says, “We're not going to do the same as everybody else. We must dare to take chances – otherwise there's no fun in it.”
Although the first products from EVA saw the light of day as early as the end of the ‘40s, it was only in 1952 that the name became firmly established. This was when the slicing machine was launched. One of the first examples of the way in which function could be combined with an attractive design. A classic was born. And more have made their appearance since.
Common to them all is the thoroughly thought-out and innovative design as well as the choice of materials. These are of premium importance to us. And an important aspect of the enjoyment of preparing, serving and eating every meal. Which is why we introduced a Teflon-surfaced frying pan in 1964 – and later received a patent for the name SLIP-LET®. Which is why the biggest innovation in 1970 was not called a coffee-maker, but a coffee-brewer. Which is why, since 1977, the handles on our saucepans can just be put on.
And which is why EVA SOLO silicone potholders from 1999 are easier to wash and as good as any other brand on the market. That we are the only company on the market to make silicone potholders is just another detail.
A great deal has happened since our first products appeared on the market. Times have changed. The world around us has become more internationalized – and it continues to change more rapidly than ever before. This also means that the challenges we face have grown. We must keep up with the times – and preferably be slightly ahead of them. We will therefore continue to change and develop. Precisely as we have done throughout the history of the company.

EVA DENMARK has been part of Danes' daily lives for more than half a century. Since the 1940s we have specialized in developing and manufacturing high quality kitchen utensils. Taking our point of departure from the demands of our surroundings we have always made an attempt to find new paths together with some of Denmark's most eminent designers – to challenge the traditional understanding of what design is.
This is why such values as reliability, aesthetics and dynamism have always been decisive for the development of new products. Values that we will continue to emphasize in the future. And this means that we must continually seek new ways of thinking about the circumstances that come to the forefront in connection with domestic design. This is the challenge we have presented ourselves with – and which is, in fact, quite simple: We want to combine function with elegance. Naturally without compromising on quality. This is why our designs are always thought out down to the smallest detail.
This is also the reason why we will be able to find new paths in the future – no matter what demands the future makes. And also the reason why we will continue to be able to offer a wide range of attractive, functional and reliable solutions. This is our promise – so it is simply up to the individual to make use of the many possibilities.
Giving form to an idea is one of the most difficult aspects of design. A good idea may lose everything if the design is not absolutely right. But when this succeeds they form a synthesis. EVA, EVA-TRIO and EVA SOLO are all good examples of this.

At EVA-TRIO, we have consistently been infusing each of our products with the proper blend of design, functionality and materials for more thanb 25 years. This is also the reason behind the success of EVA-TRIO: a complete line of accessories for a wide variety of cooking; arranging and serving tasks involving food and beverages.
EVA-TRIO is still a success. A modern classic. Not only in Denmark, but also abroad. The demands made in connection with modern cooking have resulted in utensils that combine function with attractive, thoroughly thought-out design. EVA SOLO came into the world in 1997. EVA SOLO combines youthfulness and experience, design and function. This is a unique collection of products, each of which helps us to open our eyes and offers us a new view of things. Surprising solutions – that are always surprisingly simple.
We have made a virtue of necessity with EVA SOLO. These are utensils that can stand up to being used. And seen. This is the reason why our citrus press is on sale in museum shops all over the world. This means that the lining of the knife stand can be taken out and put into the dishwasher. Because we always strive for simplicity, effectiveness and refinement. But we want to do more: We are and will continue to be at the forefront of developments – and with the starting point in our brands, we must be innovative and trend-setting. Both when it comes to design and materials. In relation to people's lifestyles and modern trends.
We look at EVA as an umbrella capable of covering all possible needs. Now and in the future. In the kitchen and in the rest of the home. In Denmark and on the international market.
But no matter what we do we must never compromise on expertise or solidity. The most important thing for us is that the company must follow consumers – and not the other way around.
